Joanne Hiscox

Joanne Hiscox, through Fractured Furnishings (her design studio), creates indoor and outdoor architectural features and mosaic artwork featuring stone and glass. Her indoor projects include granite desks and tables inlaid with glass, fused glass and stone channels, glass and mixed media wall art, glass mosaic tables and mosaic vases. Her outdoor art including glass tile murals and mixed media benches.

After graduating from the University of Michigan, Joanne worked for a well-known consulting firm and, in 1980, she co-founded a technical consulting company. She devoted the next 20 years to its success and growth. Owning and operating a company from start-up to $30 million in sales provided endless financial, business and problem solving stimulation. During those "corporate years", Joanne's creative side was stimulated through extensive worldwide travel with her husband, soaking in "cultural deisgns", styles and world famous works of art. The melding of colors and textures became a key part of her artistic eye, palette and style.

Corporate success allowed retirement at an early age, providing Joanne the opportunity to spend mroe time with her husband, their 2 Golden Retrievers and her artwork. In addition to expanding her portfolio , Joanne is a Contributing Editor for GLASScraftsman Magazine and a member of the teaching faculty at the Sedona Arts Center.  Her most recent art pieces showcase her growth as an artist: strikingly bold mosaic furniture; and sleek contemporary glass art for interior and exterior use. With time no longer a luxury, Joanne is developing her color style to its brightest hue.

Joanne resides in Sedona, AZ and her work is in private residences throughout the United States. Her indoor and outdoor work can be viewed and purchased at the Sedona Art Center and at El Presidio Gallery (Tucson).
